Pastor's Notes

July 26, 2016

"A little boy was going to quote the Scripture from 1 Corinthians 13:13, "Now abide faith, hope and love, but the greatest of these is love." When he stepped in front of the congregation and saw the huge crowd he became a bit confused. He quoted the last part of that verse by saying, "But the greatest disease is love."

Love is a healthy disease. Jesus had an incurable case of it. He taught us that love is the distinguishing characteristic of being a Christian. In a world that is so conflicted, we need to spread such a disease. It is an unusual disease, for it changes us. We see swords beaten into plowshares. Love is the one disease that is a joy to spread. We even discover that the more we give away, the more we will experience ourselves.

A church is the one place where love is shared and experienced, generously! Let us not sit in isolation, when we need to be exposed to more of it.

Full exposure happens at Glen Alpine! Don't you just love it?

Blessings, Richie
