Promises of God

September 20, 2016

In the book of Acts, I read about the promises of God extended to us, and our children. The last few days, I have seen children sing, play instruments, smile, eat, and experience tremendous love within the walls of the Glen Alpine Church building. I heard of more than one person who said, "isn't it wonderful to hear the sounds of children!"

It IS wonderful. King's kids began with 24 on the first Monday. Great kids! Dedicated volunteers! What a way to extend the love of God, and yes, the promises. God's Spirit was certainly moving swiftly.

As I reflect on this wonderful experience, I also challenge myself to think of how God might be calling me to join God in His work. I recognize over and over, that it is far more important for me to join God in God's design, rather than asking God to bless my own. As you think of the investment that churches make in young people, I encourage you to think of the possibilities. Always remember, God is able to do far more than we can ask or imagine (Ephesians).

Blessings, Richie
