Pastor's Notes

September 12, 2017

Dear friends, extended relatives, acquaintances, and those we don't know at all by name have been displaced, some for a time, others forever. The devastation of a hurricane has a "lasting" impact on a community and certainly a people.

This is a time for Christians to put aside any differences and be the light for the world. During the last few days, we have witnessed reports of tremendous need. Individually, or even as a congregation, we may think that we can't make a difference. But as the Body of Christ, we join together and make a sizeable difference through various acts of generosity. I want to say THANK YOU for all you have already done through flood buckets, hygiene kits, and contributions to UMCOR. I can't say enough about the good work of UMCOR. Often the first to arrive, the last to leave, UMCOR is the hands of the United Methodist Church in areas of hurting people. Remember, 100% of our contributions go directly to aid!

"Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy" is a wonderful beatitude. It speaks of mercy as it pertains to forgiveness and compassion. Let us demonstrate our beliefs in an amazing way during this season of plenty.

Blessings, Richie
